About Me

I have been working professionally as a photographer since 2005 though have enjoyed photography from a young age.  I was a director for Sphereworks Ltd for 4 years but left in 2009 as the business moved to Manchester.  I continue to work as a photographer in the southwest of England and am based in my home town of Exeter with my wife Joanna, 3 children and 4 cats. My wife Joanna is also a keen photographer, with an interest in pinhole photography and sometimes assists me on shoots.

During my time as a photographer I have worked with many clients, including the Dartmoor National Park Authority on their Virtually Dartmoor project, the University of Exeter providing many Virtual Reality images which are proving extremely popular on their websites, Webbers Fine and Country properties, Devon County Council, Princesshay and Drakes Circus Shopping Centres, various hotels, holiday homes and parks, property developers, NHS etc…

I enjoy most types of photography, though specialise in Virtual Reality and Architectural / Property work.  Many of my images have been published in newspapers, magazines and brochures.

I learnt my skills from an early age with film SLR cameras, starting with a Practica SLR bought for me as a birthday present.  As I progressed with this camera I moved on to use Canon cameras, starting with an A1 and moving onto a T90 with professional lenses.  I learnt a huge amount with the Canon T90, shot hundreds of films and spent many hours in the dark room.  After shooting a few commercial jobs with the Canon T90 I then upgraded into the digital SLR market with Nikon SLRs.  I also own a Zenza Bronica ETRsi medium format film camera which I enjoy shooting black and white photographs with.  Although digital photography has taken over most of my professional photography I miss working with film and the time spent in dark rooms.  If I get the opportunity I would love to set up my own darkroom… that’s if I ever find the time.  Also I have always enjoyed teaching my skills to others and now am offering one on one tuition, click here for more information.
