Berber black tent – Acquired 2019 by Gordon Clarke
360VR imagery inside a Berber Black Tent in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.
This tent was formerly owned by a Tekna Berber family who lived on the border between Morocco and Algeria. Some of the finest tents are produced in this region. The Berber are master weavers, bringing life and pattern into their cloths as they mix black goat hair, brown camel hair and white sheep wool. With two different looms, weavers take several months to complete the cloth required to make a whole tent.
